Elaine Alexander is an award winning Charlotte playwright and director. Elaine's most recent full length play, Thanksgiving: 2016 won five Metrolina Theatre nominations including Best Director 2024. Elaine's one act plays have been theatre festival winners in three continents and throughout the US, most notably in Los Angeles and New York City. With her comedy troupe, The Hot Mess Players, Elaine has written, directed and produced her satirical one acts, murder mystery and sketch comedy at community and dinner theatres and other venues across the Carolinas. Elaine has an MFA from Spalding University in Louisville, Kentucky and a bachelor's degree in Journalism and English from UNC-Chapel Hill.
